How do I give a user access to see payroll in one department, but not in others?

Our user access restrictions allow you to restrict access at the function, department, and category/account levels. However it is not possible to give a user access to different accounts in different departments, so you won't be able to set permissions that allow a user to see the payroll account in Department 1, but not in Department 2.

If you do need to do this - for instance one of your managers is away for a couple of weeks, and you need another manager to manage their budget (but not see the payroll account), the most efficient way is to create another, temporary, user ID which can be given the access restrictions you require.
