FAQ's: Data Importing during Onboarding & Setup

FAQ's on data importing during our general setup & onboarding process

Q: Will you import my actual data or will we?  How does that work?

A: We work closely with you to run a General Ledger Transaction Report from your existing accounting software. The report should include seven essential columns:

Our onboarding specialist will assist in formatting this report, making it import-ready for Budgyt. The process involves creating formulas to convert data into the required format, and we'll guide you through this step. Once the Excel report is ready, it will be used to import the Actuals into Budgyt. Our import section has a user-friendly three-step process, providing an import status report that highlights any potential issues for review. We ensure that our process is efficient, taking approximately 5 minutes to import each month's data.

For customers using Enterprise-level accounting software, we offer an option to automatically generate the required Excel report, which can be imported via an FTP Folder on the cloud. This setup allows for daily imports with email-based status reports for administrators.

Q: We are switching accounting software this year - will we need a new GL Import Template?

A:  When switching accounting software, we will create a new Budgyt site for you and go through the setup process for this site. This typically takes a few hours and is billed at our standard rate of $275 per hour.

Q:  How do we get my Excel Budget in Budgyt?

A: We offer two import methods: Import GL Periods as Rows or Import GL Periods as Columns. The former is used for importing Actual data from your accounting software, while the latter is used for importing budgets from Excel.

We guide you through converting your Excel budget into the required format, and this process is straightforward. Additionally, we provide coaching to help recreate any non-roll-up formulas using our Payroll Module and Non-HR formulas such as FOA, C2Cs, and Rules.

Once those formulas are created, they don't have to be managed or consistently maintained - they only need to be created once and the platform will manage new changes and edits for you automatically.

Our aim is to ensure a seamless transition and provide the necessary training for your platform administrators.

Our commitment to excellence is reflected in Budgyt's recent ranking in G2's 2023 rankings as "Most Implementable," "Highest User Adoption," "Easiest to Use," "Easiest Setup," and "Users Most Likely to Recommend."
