What are departments?
You can think of departments in Budgyt as any separately budgeted business unit, or your P&L reporting units used in your General Ledger.
For example, for a restaurant business, these might be your locations. Or for a manufacturing business they might be your Sales, Admin, R&D, Production, etc departments or cost centers.
If your business has 3 locations or divisions, each of which budgets for a Sales, a Marketing, and an Admin department, then we could class each of those departments in each location as a department in Budgyt, so your total would be 3 x 3 = 9.
