# How do I turn on/off Comment Mode on the Dashboard?
**Comment Mode** may be turned on or off by clicking the speech bubble icon beneath the green drop down menu on the dashboard.
When switched on, the numbers on the dashboard (or Variance 1 if you're on the Budget Comp Dashboard) will be in blue text, you may see flags next to them if there are comments present, and clicking a number will display the comment window.
When off, the numbers will be black, the flags will disappear, and clicking a number will take you to the data sheet for that item.
