# Searching your Budgyt site
If you're looking for a particular expense, vendor, description etc, and can't remember the exact category/department combination, there is a search function built into Budgyt.
At the top right of your screen, in the dark blue bar, you'll see a number of icons. The first of these is a magnifying glass. If you click this, you'll see an input field appear where you can type what you're looking for, then hit enter or click on **Advanced Search** and you'll be taken to a list of all the places in Budgyt where the text you entered appears.
All these entries are links that will take you to the Datasheet where that text appears so you can investigate in more detail.
